What is the meaning of Christmas? For some it could mean the birth of Christ, for the younger ones it could mean time off school to spend time with family and friends. It could mean to see what Santa had less for them, but for me Christmas is about giving back to those less fortunate. Christmas is also about a time reflected on the past years and working on the upcoming year. God only gave us one life; however it is up to you and only you to decide how you are going to spend it. As I was writing this prayer a lot of stuff was going through my head; one being a Hallmark movie “Christmas at Graceland”. Why that movie you ask, well because it portrays a grand message of in which Laurel, the main character, has to ultimately decide between work and spending time with her daughter on Christmas day. But to me being a part of a family means that you will always have each other’s back. I was also thinking about this amazing tradition grandma and grandpa started, it reminded me of when grandpa took us Christmas caroling around our neighborhood. Being together in such a way on Christmas was very uplifting and was such a good time to be together on such an important holiday as a family. Before we eat I would love to thank everybody who has helped carry on this tradition that was passed down from our beloved Grandma Alice and Grandpa Jim. I would like to leave you with this thought that Christmas only comes once a year but the spirit of Christmas will be inside of us all year round.
